Location – Gibsons
My intention is to bring the viewer a sense of the moment that moved me to pause . The scene could stimulate a reflection on the human condition or one’s relationship with the natural environment .
I work intuitively selecting materials that represent the spirit and feeling of that place. Each piece calls for a different use of materials, glazes, scumble and various mediums to bring forth it’s uniqueness. I use size, scale and format for an uncommon view.
The language of my work reflects lived experience in my community, memory and location.
Themes are varied from renewal, enmeshment, and “memento mori”.
