Mudito Drope

Location – Gibsons

I began my creative journey years ago when I took up quilting although I did not do much of the traditional piece work. I preferred to do what I came to call fabric paintings using the cast off clothing of our time, polyester fabric for the most part. Throughout these years I also enjoyed drawing and painting in watercolour.

In 2001 on my retirement, I decided to take up painting full time and also began to use acrylic paint. This choice opened up a whole new creative direction as I explored the possibilities of this new medium.

Since that time I have painted in my studio all winter and ventured into the outdoors to paint and draw plein aire for the summer.

I have had one man shows at the Sunshine Coast Arts Center and the Gibsons Public Art Gallery as well as participating in many group shows at various venues on the Sunshine Coast.
