Life Drawing on BC Sunshine Coast
There are 2 life drawing groups, one in Sechelt and one in Gibsons.
SECHELT, SUNSHINE COAST ARTS COUNCIL
Sechelt life drawing group draws from a live nude model. Drawing from the live model in traditional nude setting. Starting with quick one minute poses and leading to 30 minute poses. Drawing is a pillar of fine art. Our models are a mix of genders and ages.

Tuesdays from 10 am till 1 pm.

From mid-September to Mid-December then early Feb to April.

COST
$20 per session. You can come to any session and just pay on that day, no need to book a series of sessions.
New members welcome, come and improve your drawing skills. No experience necessary, we welcome beginners and experts alike. There’s no competition, no pressure, just concentration and direct observation of the human body.
INFO FOR ARTISTS
Easels, drawing boards and chairs are provided. Just bring your drawing paper and equipment. Bring a little dropcloth if you're working with wet medium or messy charcoal.
Please try to arrive 10-20 minutes early to set up your spot. We start at 10 am sharp with about 15 one minute poses for gesture drawings, then 5, 10, 15, about 20 minutes then at 11:25 we take 30 minute break then 2 final 30 minute poses and end at 1 pm. Some of us pop next-door to Sechelt Senior Activity Centre for lunch or others bring their own lunch or snacks.

GIBSONS, GRANTHAMS HALL
Hello again everyone, hope the new year has gotten off to a good start for you all : )
There are still a few spots left for the next block of life drawing… although, as some of you may have heard, there have been some unexpected changes regarding dates.
We will now be meeting on Monday evenings… same time, same place. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Here are the new dates:
(8 consecutive Mondays, Feb 24 -Apr 14th)
-February: 24th
-March: 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31st
-April: 7 and 14th

Cost: $100 for all 8 sessions

Place: Granthams Hall - 846 Church Road, Gibsons
Time: Please plan to arrive by 6:45 to set up your spot
Drawing starts at 7:00pm sharp and ends at 9:30pm
Some additional information for those of you new to the group:
-all models will be unclothed
-room will be warm, it helps to dress in layers
-poses are timed, starting at 2 minutes progressing to 20 minutes
-we take a 20 minute break midway -kettle available for tea
-bring your own drawing supplies and drawing surface, such as a large sketch pad or a board with clips
-chairs are provided
Participant space is limited. Registration tends to fill up fast, so please e-transfer Joanna to secure your spot.
